Addicted to Love (part 1) by: Sara Eie DeSter

Image
5:20 AM reads the clock on the side table that sat next to a plaid couch.  Little ringlets of smoke floated to the ceiling as the man sitting on the couch continued to make more with his cigarette.  Boredom.  All he wants is for time to stop.  He wants to sit and relax with the woman he loves watching movies, talking, laughing, and holding her.  Instead he is watching the minutes tic by without a care. Tic.  He takes the drag of his cigarette and exhales another ringlet of smoke.  As this one rose to the ceiling, it took the disguise of a halo hovering his head before completely disappearing.  Tic.  He watches the last bit of ash fall from the cigarette and onto his suit.  He sat there for a minute then brushed the ash off then stood up.  As he stood, he stretched to get all the kinks out and then he straitened his suit.  Tic.  He looked to th...

Misery of Love and Blades By: Sara Eie DeSter

Image
The sound of lightning crashing and the rain pelting the cold, winter struck streets of London.  Everyone scurries about to get out of the rain and the cold except for one.  Matt loved the rain, one of the only things he ever loved.  The rain put him in a calm state, a relaxed state.  It brought him to another place far away from the miseries of his world.  A smile spread across Matt's face as he opened his arms to the sky and began to spin in circles in the middle of the sidewalk.  Bystanders who saw this act of childish behavior and looked at him with judging expressions.  Matt didn't care about what they said or thought about him.  He just simply continued to spin and enjoy the few seconds of happiness in his life.  All was good until one thought danced into his mind.  Lily.  The name if ever spoken would cut him like a knife.  She was the love of his life and his saving grace.  She picked him up when he was down a...

Typically Average Day by: Sara Eie DeSter

The same music floats through the tunnels of the subway.  Everyday men and women hurried through the tunnels to their destinations.  But that a new tune drifted through the air of the subway.  It was the tune of an old acoustic guitar being strummed by a sixteen year old teen.  The fluorescent lights of the subway highlighted his bright ginger hair acting as a beacon to guide the wearied travelers to his melodious songs of his life.  His fingers glide over the strings, strumming and plucking them as he hummed along with the tune.  Every now and then, the men and women that passed would drop coins or notes in his guitar case that laid open next to him.  Others would simply just look at him.  Some looked at him with disgust because of the state of his clothes, faded blue jeans, a green shirt and a pair of beat up sneakers.  And others look to him with sorrow, as he was alone and making money in a filthy subway.  But the ginger had no c...

Ballad of Blue by: Sara Eie DeSter

Image
Rain falls like paint splatters against the window pane making the world look stained glass.  A girl with twenty- seven years of experience of the world, sits on the edge of her bed think about the wrong that she has caused.  She looks down at the letter she holds in her hand letting her auburn hair fall in front of her tear-stained face.  She reads over the carefully written words again that reads," I don't know you, I've never really understood why, You couldn't tell me what you really felt, And now what we use to be has gone away....far away".  The girl with the auburn hair looks up and the memories of her ex-lover flashed through her mind.  The never-ending fighting, the lying that never ceased, leaving her love in tears every time he caught her in a lie, watching him walking out the door, suitcase in hand, because he couldn't take the lying and deceit.  All these memories of loss hit her like freight train.  As the pain i...

A Playful Trend for Summer

Image
What better way to say playful than a jumpsuit!!!!  Jumpsuits are really big this summer and come in all sorts of styles.  One of my personal favorites is the wide leg pant jumpsuit.  With the wide leg pant, it makes a light and flexible style perfect for the summer weather.  This is probably the best shore outfit built for beach or boardwalk.  For the beach, pair with dusty rose colored flip flops and a black sun hat.  And for the boardwalk, wear a pair of cute sandal heels and rose gold bracelet.

Sophisticated summer style!

2. Peplum Tops and Printed Skirts       If you are looking for that perfect outfit for a girls night out or even a business casual outfit, this is the look for you!  Printed skirts are so fun and flirty and absolutely adorable! ;) But, when paired with a Peplum top it cools it down to a more sophisticated look.  Pair this off with a cute Gina brown high-heel sandals and some bracelets and you'll be runway ready.

Our Dark Duet

Image
In this sequel to this savage song, Kate Harker is a girl who isn’t afraid of the dark. She’s a girl who hunts monsters. And she’s good at it. August Flynn is a monster who can never be human, no matter how much he once yearned for it. He’s a monster with a part to play. And he will play it, no matter the cost. Nearly six months after Kate and August were first thrown together, the war between the monsters and the humans is terrifying reality. In Verity, August has become the leader he never wished to be, and in Prosperity, Kate has become the ruthless hunter she knew she could be. When a new monster emerges from the shadows—one who feeds on chaos and brings out its victim’s inner demons—it lures Kate home, where she finds more than she bargained for. She’ll face a monster she thought she killed, a boy she thought she knew, and a demon all her own.

Louden Swain (the best band ever!!!)

Image
ATTENTION ALL MUSIC LOVERS: Over the course of nearly two decades, the world-class D.I.Y. rock quartet known as Louden Swain has quietly built a powerful body of recordings, earning a fervent grass-roots fan base and an impressive backlog of critical acclaim.  The resourceful Los Angeles combo has released a series of impressively accomplished albums, toured successfully throughout North America and Europe, and emerged as a popular Youtube sensation—all without the support of a mainstream record label. The upbeat energy and irresistible melodic sensibility that have already endeared Louden Swain to their loyal fans are all over the band's seventh album No Time Like the Present.  A knack for seizing the moment has been a key element of Louden Swain's character since day one.  Their raw, punk-inspired early sound quickly expanded into a more adventurous and experimental sensibility, while maintaining the appealingly tuneful, emotionally open approach...

This Savage Song

Image
In Victoria Schwab's This Savage Song, there’s no such thing as safe in a city at war, a city overrun with monsters. In this dark urban fantasy from author Victoria Schwab ,  a young woman and a young man must choose whether to become heroes or villains—and friends or enemies—with the future of their home at stake. The first of two books. Kate Harker and August Flynn are the heirs to a divided city—a city where the violence has begun to breed actual monsters. All Kate wants is to be as ruthless as her father, who lets the monsters roam free and makes the humans pay for his protection. All August wants is to be human, as good-hearted as his own father, to play a bigger role in protecting the innocent—but he’s one of the monsters. One who can steal a soul with a simple strain of music. When the chance arises to keep an eye on Kate, who’s just been kicked out of her sixth boarding school and returned home, August jumps at it. But Kate discovers August’s secret, and after a failed a...
